February Movie – Horseshoe

After the death of Colm Canavan, his four adult children reluctantly reunite in the family home. Each carries their own resentments and emotional baggage and any attempt at civil conversation quickly spirals into arguments. Things worsen when their father’s will reveals a surprising condition: they must unanimously agree on how the estate is to be divided.

Cleverly balancing humour and heartache, Horseshoe explores how unresolved family history can shape the present. Winner of Best Irish First Feature at the 2025 Galway Film Fleadh, this keenly observed comedy-drama offers a touching and very Irish portrait of squabbling siblings learning to confront the past together.
