November Movie Night – Fidil Ghorm

Fidil Ghorm is a tender and enchanting Irish-language drama that follows 10-year-old Molly, whose father lies in a coma. Convinced that music holds the key to waking him, Molly sets out to learn the fiddle and win an All-Ireland competition—just like her dad once did.

Her journey leads her to Malachy, a reclusive and grumpy older man in her father’s rehab centre. Rumoured to have “magic in his hands”, Malachy is a former champion fiddler. With persistence and heart, Molly persuades him to teach her, and together they discover the healing power of music, memory, and unlikely friendship.

Blending gentle fantasy with real emotional depth, Fidil Ghorm is a beautiful story about hope, resilience, and the magic that music can bring to our lives.
