SUMMARY:Seán Keane - Live in Concert
DESCRIPTION:Possessor of one of Ireland’s most distinctive and unique voices\, we are delighted to welcome Seán Keane back to Tuar Ard this October to perform from his vast repertoire of songs. While his roots are in old Ireland with the Keane family tradition of Sean-nós singing\, his voice lends itself beautifully to many different genres and his skill on the flute\, whistle and pipes with which he punctuates songs make his work unforgettable. \n“There is a simple lucid clarity to Seán Keane’s singing voice which – like a laser – cuts through the cacophonous clatter and bang of a noisy world.  He is a storyteller\, whose voice is the sound of everyman; winging its way across the heaven in search of new civilisations.” Shay Healy\, songwriter\, broadcaster and journalist. \nBook your tickets here or phone our box office on 090 6482042.

SUMMARY:Declan Nerney and Band Concert Tour 2023
DESCRIPTION:Declan was born in the heart of Ireland in Drumlish\, Co Longford at a unique period of time in the music scene worldwide. A revolution in rock and pop brought us The Beatles\, Elvis\, and the Rolling Stones\, while here in Ireland the magnificent showband boom was about to explode. \nAs young man growing up at that time\, Declan was being heavily influenced by these greats and indeed was getting the rare opportunity to see most of the top showbands appear in his native town of Drumlish. He would cajole his mother into seeing Joe Dolan\, Big Tom\, Philomena Begley\, The Capital Showband\, and many more perform when they appeared at the marquee at the end of May and early June. From his vantage point close to the stage\, he would absorb every move made by the guitarist in the bands\, watching his fingers slide along the strings\, hoping that one day he might be up there performing just like Dan O’Hara or Seamus McMahon. \nDeclan has gone on to have a super career that has spanned over four decades at the top of Irish Country Music winning many accolades along the way and scoring countless hits with his catalogue of trademark song. \nJoin him and his super live band with special guests Owen Mac and John Hogan for a nostalgic night of music\, song and laughter. \nBook your tickets here or phone our box office on 090 6482042.
