SUMMARY:March Movie Night - Better Days
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 3rd March 2026 at 8pm \nWidowed mother of three\, Suzanne\, is struggling to hold her family together while quietly drowning her grief in alcohol. When an accident on the school run exposes the reality of her situation\, social services intervene and she is given a stark ultimatum: enter rehab or risk losing custody of her children. \nThe early days of treatment are brutal\, but Suzanne soon forms unlikely bonds with the women around her – Alice\, an orphan terrified of her own past; Diane\, a once-famous actress estranged from her daughter; and Chantal\, whose sharp humour masks deep despair. Under the watch of Denis\, their sports coach and car workshop tutor\, the group are signed up for a women’s car rally in Morocco\, a challenge that forces them to rediscover resilience\, connection and purpose. \nMoving\, honest and ultimately uplifting\, Better Days is a story of friendship\, solidarity and the long road back to oneself. \nDirector: Elsa Bennett\, Hippolyte Dard (2025)\nRuntime: 104 mins.\nGenre: Drama\nLanguage: French with English Subtitles\nCertificate: 15A

SUMMARY:A Savage Silence: A Midlands-Made Film
DESCRIPTION:A Savage Silence is a locally made\, ultra-low budget independent Irish film rooted in the Midlands. \nBased on the novel by Rory Hafford\, the film explores relationship breakdown\, betrayal\, and the challenge of finding a new way forward. Told in a deliberately pared-back\, reflective style\, it focuses on emotional truth over polish. \nThe cast is made up primarily of young Midlands-based actors aged 14–22\, many of whom were involved across multiple aspects of the production. Music plays a central role\, featuring tracks from Rory Hafford’s albums Savage Sounds and Remember\, the latter of which was named Album of the Week on RTÉ Lyric FM’s Marty in the Morning \nThe film premiered in Mullingar in October 2025 and has since received positive audience response and international festival recognition \nThe screening will be followed by a post-film discussion with filmmaker Darragh O’Rourke. \nCheck out the trailer here \nGet Tickets
